Busbars for switchgear and panels
IZAR makes flexible busbars, copper busbars and rigid connections that carry current from the main busbars to the devices in switchgear and panels.
Where it works
From main busbars to devices
The current path runs from the main busbars to circuit breakers and switch-disconnectors, passes between panels and ends at the transformer and cable connections.
What it has to withstand
Tight space
Devices sit close together. The bar has to bend and twist to a small radius.
Assembly tolerances
Devices from different suppliers rarely line up. A flexible busbar is fitted on site.
Heat
A closed panel traps heat. The SE table gives ratings for ΔT 30, 50 and 70 °C.

Questions
Choosing the right connector
What is an SE flexible busbar?
A stack of copper strips in a vinyl compound insulation. It bends and twists to a very small radius, connects without cable lugs and, at the same current rating, needs a cross-section 40% smaller than other connections.
What lengths do SE and SM busbars come in?
SE flexible busbars come in 2 m lengths, 3 m to order; SM copper busbars are 4 m as standard, other lengths to order. SE can also be ordered bent and punched to your design, SM drilled as required.
